Are Your Posts From Bufferapp Going Out To Facebook Privately?
Facebook has set Bufferapp to post privately by default to your Facebook Profile, but there is a fix. If you see your Buffer posts to your Facebook Profile Timeline with a lock on them, and set to be seen “Only By Me” (see picture left) You just need to go to the app settings on your Facebook profile, and edit them, and set it to whatever your preference is, friends for e.g.
To Do This: Go to “Home” “Account” “Apps” scroll down to Bufferapp, select “edit”, scroll down to “Posts on my behalf” and change it to a more open setting other than “Only Me” Click “Close” to save. Now when you set Bufferapp to post to your timeline profile, it should post to what ever level of visibility you set it too.

Just noticed this today and fixed it for all my apps that were posting as “only me” not just buffer, Hootsuite, Gremln, Dlvr.it, Twitterfeed…etc were all locked to Only Me for weeks now and I didn’t realize it.

Thanks for posting this. I just encountered this yesterday after using Hootsuite for much more than a year now. Weird. I did change from having a public setting to friends only…but got the little lock “only me” …very frustrating.
I went to my apps in facebook and was able to change the hootsuite setting to “friends”. phew…

Hey Leonie — THANK YOU so much for posting this!! I rely on Buffer to help me reach people, and all of a sudden I started seeing this “only me” business on my posts. You would think Facebook would notify users when they change something…too much to ask I suppose. In any event, finding this made my day
