The New Facebook Pages Manager App Review

Facebook Pages Manager ReviewI just downloaded the New Facebook Pages Manager App to my iPhone 4, (I just so love being ahead of the U.S JUST ONCE!!!) just released this morning, and took it for a spin. The new Facebook app, has just a slow release and only a few countries have it, for once we Aussies were first in line! For someone like me who manages quite a few Pages both my own and for my Facebook clients, I think this is a very handy app, it does everything it should do except, the ability to delete an Admin from a Page, which I looked to see if I could do, to get myself off a clients Page as Admin this morning. Lets take a look.

This is the first view after you have downloaded the app to your iPhone. I’m not sure why it says “who can see posts etc”….Posts to Pages are always public? So why the friends? So I sent a test post to my Digital Breezes Facebook Page, and it did go out the Page as it always has done as public. So bit bewildered by that.

Nice clean interface familiar from the usual Facebook App I use. I can write a post share a photo, answer comments, messages look at other updates.

All the Pages I manage

Shows me all the Pages I manage and Insights and lists Admins, great for quickly checking stats which I do daily.

Filter posts is fairly obvious, if I’m trying to track something down.

Able To Delete A Post

Able To Delete A Post

And yes I’m able to delete a post just fine. Swipe the post, and this message comes up. If I swipe a comment I also get the option to either Delete the comment or Ban the user. On the normal F.B App you can only delete comments not ban the user as well. It doesn’t appear to show events, well I can’t find them. You can’t do much in Admin, but I wouldn’t expect that in this app.

I also like that the app tells you how many people have been reached by your post and how many are talking about it. Thats actually more information than the desktop browser has, you have to go into analytics to find that. If you click the reached link it shows you more information about those stats. The app also shows me my latest page likes and who they came from post likes of course as well.

So why do I like this App? Because I manage Facebook Pages, and I can easily navigate the app, find pretty much everything I want to, and its really easy to post too. I do know some of my clients have had in the past, great difficulty in posting directly to their pages when they are not in front of their computer. With this app, they can take a picture and upload it to the page without any trouble at all.

This App won’t be of much interest to anyone that doesn’t really work their Facebook Page, but for a free app, for most Page owners it’s going to be useful.

Now…what I really want! is the ability to share from Safari to my pages direct, To post to a page from Safari I have to copy and past the url…

Have you had a chance to try this, have you found any other hidden tricks that I haven’t?

Edit: Probably be a few of these as I find things out…it doesn’t appear to go into landscape view for typing…only portrait. Don’t like that, I really have to type on my phone in Landscape….
